I noticed some things that I'd like to share.
I came from Everquest 2 and it was very different back when I played.
I noticed that in PVE the community was quite nice and helpful. I only got into 1 fight, because I got so angry at someone much higher in level than a group I was in aggroing the mobs we were fighting, but not fighting them back, knowing we couldn't get xp off them now. That made me so mad, but it was the only time.
When PVP was introduced to EQ2 I noticed a lot of butting heads in chat and people being very mean to each other in the game. I knew it was because the PVP was competitive and the PVE was co-operative.

Now when I first came to Guild Wars I noticed that the PVE chat was even worse than the EQ2 PVP chat.
I know this is wrong to say, but I can't help but feel it has to do with age. I realize not all younger people are quick to get riled up/tee'd off, but in EQ2 the average gamer was a lot older than GW's average gamer, and that's all I can think of that was really noticeably different about the 2 audiences. I remember when I was young that myself and my peers were rebellious young tykes. We would say things knowing full well it would lead to pointless arguments. We'd never let anyone get away with telling us what to do, but as we got older we got tired of conflict. What else could it be?

This type of behavior can be seen first handedly in RA and PUG AB. For example this happened a few times;
you spend your time targeting a bond monk then telling them he/she is bonding and then they attack a different person and when your team loses they call everyone noobs.
These type of people, has to be right and are not willing to learn from others are the ignorant ones.
best definition of all here xD
you're truly the opposite from ignorant within this thread

It works visa-versa with both "pro" & New player alike...people are gonna be ignorant or rude; cuz its just the fact that thats who that person is and you cant change them, and thats a bad attitude in life.

Heres a few things that I often see regarding overall rudeness in the game (in pvp):

1. GW is addictive, its also frustrating at times, many hardcore players spend way too much time playing GW - the result? Probably what you would expect.
2. AM dists: Americans are rude and loud by nature - sad but true, and this parallels into the game environment.
3. Etoughie mentality.
